Read your way across the Cape & Islands on the Bookstore Trail

The Cape & Islands Bookstore Trail is back, and Below the Brine is thrilled to be among the 22 independent bookstores participating this year.

The program launched on Independent Bookstore Day, Saturday, April 30 and continues through October 2022. The goal of the Trail is to highlight the unique and diverse array of independent bookstores on Cape Cod and the Islands. Started in 2019, the Trail was put on pause in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID. The bookstores are very excited to bring it back this year.

Aside from the simple joy of visiting some utterly fantastic bookstores tucked among the Cape's charming villages, there are fun perks in store for people who follow the Trail People who visit five or more participating stores during 2022 will be given a Cape & Islands Bookstore Trail sticker. Those who visit fifteen stores or more will be given a chance to win either a $50 or $250 gift certificate to the bookstore of their choice. Trail maps will be available at Below the Brine, at other participating stores and can also be downloaded from the group's website at capeandislandsbookstoretrail.com.

Twenty-one independent bookstores comprise this year's Trail, including Books By the Sea in Centerville, Brewster Bookstore in Orleans, Bunch of Grapes Bookstore in Vineyard Haven, Edgartown Books in Edgartown, East End Books in Provincetown, Eight Cousins Books in Falmouth, Footprints Cafe in Buzzards Bay, Herridge Books in Wellfleet, I Cannot Live Without Books in West Dennis, Isaiah Thomas Books & Prints in Cotuit, Market Street Bookshop in Mashpee, Mitchell's Book Corner and Nantucket Bookworks on Nantucket, Parnassus Book Service in Yarmouth Port, Reed Books in Harwich Port, Titcomb's Bookshop in East Sandwich, Wellfleet Booksmith in Wellfleet, Where the Sidewalk Ends Bookstore and Children's Annex and Yellow Umbrella Books in Chatham, Below the Brine Bookshop in Harwich Port, and Sea Howl Bookshop in Orleans.
